Nick Mills
Director
BSc Hons Architecture (Strathclyde) BArch (Strathclyde)
(Part III) RIBA RIAS PPIAZ
Having gained an international training and perspective,
Nicholas initially established his own practise, Conryn Design
Architects in Harare, Zimbabwe, which he developed into a
substantial, multidisciplinary team that successfully delivered
a large variety of award-winning local and international
projects.
Zimbabwe’s political and economic instability led Nicholas to
focus on his activities internationally, partnering with several
firms before taking root in the Cotswolds and founding Vision
Mill Architects with David Free in 2004.
The successful delivery of architecture, at whatever stage,
should involve the architect at the heart of the process, with
careful listening and understanding of need, balancing of
competing elements and precise and swift management of
information.
Since 2014 he has been the elected to the RIBA Council
as Representative for Wessex and held a core role in the
International Committee in previous years.
In 1995 he was elected to the board of the Institute of
Architects of Zimbabwe, eventually being elected as
its president in 1999. Amongst his other professional
